What you need to know about Costco fuel

Costco operates fuel stations in Australia as a member-only benefit, not as a public retailer. Prices are set on a low margin, high volume basis and are consistently 10 to 15 cents per litre cheaper than the surrounding metro average. The maths is straightforward: if you fill up once a week with a 50 litre tank, an annual Costco membership of $60 recovers its cost within 10 to 12 fills.

• Membership required. You must hold a current Costco membership and scan your card at the pump.
• Fuels available. E10, Premium 98, and Premium Diesel at every QLD and NSW Costco site. Canberra Airport (ACT) sells Unleaded 91 instead of E10. Costco does not sell U95 or standard Diesel anywhere in Australia.
• Payment. Costco card, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Costco gift cards. No EFTPOS savings or cheque accounts, no cash at pump.
• Opening hours. Typically 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM Monday to Saturday with reduced Sunday hours.

Costco Fuel North Lakes (Brisbane North)

Brisbane's only Costco fuel station, inside the Westfield North Lakes precinct at 17 to 39 Cook Court, North Lakes QLD 4509. About 22 km north of the Brisbane CBD via the Bruce Highway. Reliably the cheapest E10 within a 15 km radius on most days, drawing members from Mango Hill, Griffin, Murrumba Downs, Kallangur, and the wider Moreton Bay area.

Costco Fuel Ipswich (Bundamba)

Located at 1 Wood Street, Bundamba QLD 4304, next to the Costco warehouse in Ipswich's Riverlink precinct. The cheapest fuel option in the entire Ipswich corridor on most days, serving members across Booval, Goodna, Springfield Lakes, and Redbank Plains. Quieter queues than Brisbane North Lakes outside of peak.

Costco Fuel Gold Coast (Coomera)

Northern Gold Coast at 47 Creek Road, Coomera QLD 4209, attached to the Coomera Westfield Costco. Cheapest E10 within 20 km of Coomera, Pimpama, Hope Island, Helensvale, and Ormeau. Common stop for traffic running the M1 between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Costco Fuel Sydney Auburn (Lidcombe)

Western Sydney location at 17 to 21 Parramatta Road, Lidcombe NSW 2141, the original Sydney Costco fuel site. Close to the Auburn / Lidcombe interchange off the M4. Serves members across Auburn, Lidcombe, Granville, Strathfield, and Olympic Park. Typically the cheapest E10 in Inner Western Sydney.

Costco Fuel Casula

South West Sydney at 20 Parkersfarm Place, Casula NSW 2170, attached to the Costco at the Crossroads precinct near the M5/M7 interchange. Cheapest fuel within 15 km of Casula, Liverpool, Moorebank, Holsworthy, and Ingleburn. Heavy weekend queues, lighter mid-morning weekdays.

Costco Fuel Marsden Park

North West Sydney growth area at 10 Langford Drive, Marsden Park NSW 2765, in the Sydney Business Park precinct near the Richmond Road / Garfield Road junction. Serves Marsden Park, Schofields, Riverstone, Quakers Hill, and the wider Hills District. Newer site with shorter queues than the older Sydney locations.

Costco Fuel Lake Macquarie (Boolaroo)

Newcastle's Costco fuel station at 1 Cressy Road, Boolaroo NSW 2284, the only Costco fuel north of Sydney. Cheapest E10 across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region, drawing members from Glendale, Cardiff, Speers Point, Charlestown, and Warners Bay.

Costco Fuel Canberra Airport (ACT)

Canberra's only Costco fuel station, at 39 to 41 Mustang Avenue, Canberra Airport ACT 2609, within the Majura Park precinct. Unique in Australia for selling Unleaded 91 instead of E10, the only Costco fuel site in the country that stocks regular Unleaded. Consistently the cheapest U91 in the ACT.

Costco diesel prices

Costco sells Premium Diesel at every Australian fuel site, typically 10 to 15 cents per litre below the market average for diesel. Live Premium Diesel prices for every Costco location are in the table above.

Costco does not sell standard Diesel anywhere in Australia, only the premium grade. For most modern diesel vehicles, Premium Diesel is fully compatible and often recommended, the additive package improves cold-start behaviour and reduces injector deposits over long ownership.

How Costco fuel compares

Across QLD, NSW and the ACT, Costco fuel sits in the bottom quartile of all surveyed stations on every fuel type, usually the single cheapest within a 10 km radius of each store. The trade-off is queue time: Costco fuel can run 5 to 15 minute wait on weekday peaks. Off-peak times (mid-morning weekdays, late Sunday) are usually no wait.

Costco also doesn't participate in the standard QLD fuel price cycle. Its prices don't ramp 30 to 40c/L every 4 to 6 weeks the way major-brand sites do. That makes Costco the most predictable cheap option, especially during cycle peaks where other suburbs spike.
