How Fuel Daddy Works

About Fuel Daddy

Fuel Daddy helps Australian drivers compare fuel prices in seconds. We pull live data from the official QLD Fuel Price Reporting Scheme and NSW Government FuelCheck program and render it on a clean, fast, ad-free map.

Find the cheapest E10, Unleaded 91, Premium 95 and 98, Diesel or Premium Diesel across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville and regional QLD, plus Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Central Coast, the Blue Mountains, the South Coast and regional NSW.

And because every second car sold in 2026 is electric, the same site doubles as an Australia-wide EV charger map sourced daily from Open Charge Map, covering Tesla, Chargefox, Evie, NRMA, AmpCharge, BP Pulse and every other operator.

How it works

01

Reported by law

QLD & NSW law requires every service station to submit price changes within 30 minutes of updating their boards.

02

Aggregated, shown live

Fuel Daddy collects those prices automatically and renders them on the live map every 15 minutes.

03

Always free with zero ads

The number you see is the same one stamped on the bowser. Always free, no tracking.

Common questions

Where does Fuel Daddy get its fuel prices?

Fuel Daddy pulls live prices directly from the official QLD Fuel Price Reporting Scheme and the NSW Government FuelCheck program. Every retailer in those states is required by law to report price changes within 30 minutes of updating their boards. Fuel Daddy refreshes its data every 15 minutes, so the prices you see are typically within half an hour of the bowser.

Which states does Fuel Daddy cover?

Fuel prices: Queensland (1,800+ stations) and New South Wales plus the ACT (2,300+ stations). EV chargers: Australia-wide, sourced daily from Open Charge Map, covering Tesla, Chargefox, Evie, NRMA, AmpCharge, BP Pulse and every other operator. Victoria, SA, WA and Tasmania fuel data is on the roadmap when those states' Governments mandate price reporting.

Is Fuel Daddy really free, with no ads?

Yes. The website and the iOS app are completely free. No banner ads, no interstitials, no tracking pixels, no email-wall, no premium tier. The data comes from public Government feeds and the site runs lean.

When is fuel cheapest in QLD and NSW?

Both Brisbane and Sydney run on a rough 4 to 6 week price cycle that follows terminal-gate wholesale prices. The cheapest days within the cycle are typically Tuesday through Thursday. Weekends are usually the most expensive. Check the Trends tab on the dashboard for the last 30 days of your region's prices.

Does Fuel Daddy work without giving it my location?

Yes. The map and all prices work without any location permission. Granting location only unlocks the "Cheapest fuel near you" card, the nearest-stations list and your regional 30-day trend chart. Your coordinates stay in your browser, they are never sent to a server or stored.
